
The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has long been recognized as the engine of growth all over the world. India in recent years has also seen a remarkable growth in the rise of new ventures. The 4th Indian Marketing Summit (IMS), 2010 was dedicated to the cause of MSMEs, the hidden jewels of India, which contribute to almost 45% of economic activity carried out in the country.
The IMS is an annual conference organized by the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH). In the previous years, the themes of the conference have been - Marketing in India: Challenges and Responses, Inclusive Marketing: Innovative Strategies for the Development of Masses, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak: Innovative Marketing Strategies in these uncertain times. The conference was a platform to bring together visionaries from the government, the corporate world and academia to discuss trends, opportunities and marketing strategies for MSMEs.
Key Highlights of the Conference:
- Sh. Dinsha J Patel, State Min. of MSME, Mr Pravir Kumar, Jt. Secretary, MSME, Dr H.P.Kumar, CMD NSIC shared their views on the MSME sector in India
- Success stories of MSMEs who made it big, like Luminous Power Technologies, Sonalika Group, Jaipur Rugs inspired one and all.
- Focused sessions on Innovative Media Strategies for MSMEs, Social Media, Inclusive Marketing and Go-to-Market strategies were well received.
- Over 300 delegates from the industry, academia and MSME sector attended the conference
- Special talk on the book : 'No Money Marketing' by Ms. Jessie Paul was also appreciated.
